Behind the scenes
Coba is a brand of minimalist, functional, handcrafted design accessories that honours the beauty of objects made to be truly used.
Every detail of our accessories is designed with the person who will use them in mind, so they adapt to every moment and every need.
Behind the brand are Andrea Coderch Valor, designer and founder of the brand; a team of craftswomen from local workshops who bring their mastery and know-how; and textile factories in Alcoy, which provide technical, innovative and very high-quality fabrics while finding a circular outlet for their surplus stock.
‘We are inspired by Japanese culture, not only in terms of design, but also through concepts such as wabi sabi (the beauty of change), wa (harmony and peace) and shibui (the natural, subtle beauty of simplicity).’
Coba in numbers
- 80% of our materials are sourced locally (Km0). This reduces polluting emissions when transporting them from where they are made to our workshop.
- Most of our designs are zero waste. The pattern is designed so that no fabric is left over.
- 100% handmade in decent working conditions, supporting the local economy.
- Over the last 10 years we have made more than 10,000 unique items. That means 16,000 m² of textile waste recovered, the equivalent of 64 tennis courts.
